SO the update instructions for the firmware update requre the new version of CMC tools to be installed first. However, the instructions also say that the Yamaha USB Midi driver and the CMC tools MUST be removed:

You must remove the following two software components installed from the TOOLS for CMC.
• Yamaha USB-MIDI Driver
• Steinberg CMC Applications
Follow the steps below to uninstall the software.

What? Install it then uninstall it? :unamused: :unamused:

Sorry if I’m just slow. Can someone help?

That’s from the section in the installation guide titled “Uninstalling the TOOLS for CMC”.
Unless you want to uninstall the software, you don’t need to read that section.

It doesn’t say that you have to remove them.
