Updating plugins/instruments from VST2 to VST3 inside template

Hi,
is there a quick and dirty way to change those plugins that are vst2 to their VST3 counterpart without having to redo the whole template?

I’m afraid there is no way to do so.

If the day will come that vst2 will not be supported in Cubase/Nuendo I hope there will be an automatic way of updating to vst3.
