Updating to C15 from C4 still possible?

Hello. Without going into a ton of detail, I haven’t used cubase for many years. However I still have my old e-licenser for cubase 4 pro.

Last year I looked into upgrading, and noticed that 4 was still a supported upgrade path. However I didn’t jump on it.

I looked at the sale this week, and noticed that cubase 4 is no longer listed. Oldest version is cubase 6.

Is it still possible to upgrade from the older version to a newer version?

Appreciate the response.

That’s a good question which can only be answered by a Steinberg official. Maybe @Ed_Doll can chime in?

Dongle aside, no matter what Steinberg says, the first thing they’ll likely look for is if your original cb4 and elicenser indeed appear as registered to you in your steinberg dot net account. You’ve no doubt already verified that the info is indeed there.

Yes. It’s there. I verified last year(and today).

That’s not possible anymore, I am afraid. The oldest release that can still be updated is a Cubase 6 release.

That’s unfortunate. Seems this decision must have happened within the last 9 months, because it was still listed around the new year. I had just been waiting for a sale.

Hello, I have a C5 and i m trying to update this old version… Same PB…

Time to bite the bullet. I did, when Cubase 5 came out.
I was still using Cubase Score v2 from 1992, I think, complete with parallel port dongle, until 2010, the year my portastudio went belly up.
I bought Elements, 6 months later Artist 5, then the full Cubase 6 (whatever it was called then).
Close your eyes, bite the bullet!

That’s indeed unfortunate. Looking at the bright side, right now the full version is 40% off so there is probably no better time than right now.
Like @Googly_Croft - time to bite the bullet…
