Upgrade Cubase Artist 10 to Cubase Pro 10.5

I want to upgrade from cubase 10 artist to cubase 10.5 pro - if i buy the upgrade to cubase 15 pro, can I then have the option to download and use cubase 10.5 pro instead - as my PC’s i5 Generation-2 Graphic Card will not meet the required system requirements of later versions and I don’t intend on upgrading to a new PC anytime soon? Please advise if possible? (Cause I have dongle for my cubase 10 artist)… The main feature I need, is simply the Time Warp Tool, which is a huge impediment that Artist versions do not have.

I don’t think so as you won’t be able to update the licence on the dongle to pro. The oldest version you will be able to use is Cubase 12 on the new licensing system. That is just what I suspect but maybe someone can confirm.

Exactly, it is not possible because the eLicenser service is shut down and it is not possible to acticate eLicencers codes (everything up to C11) anymore.

What would be possible is to find out if one of the newer Cubase versions (e.g. 12) are supported on the PC, then buy C15 Pro, but only use say Cubase 12. All versions starting from C12 use the new Steinberg licensing and can be run with a C15 license.

Maybe it is also possible to buy a newer graphic adapter, possibly even used, so that C15 will run. Hard to say without knowing more about OPs specific hardware configuration.

Thanks for replies guys and yeah I have noted that once I lose my dongle or it get’s damaged, that will be the end of being able to use my Cubase 10 Artist… So I will have to consider upgrading in the future… But for now, I did some reading and found a nice workaround for Artist version, where I can still get a visual of how I am moving (shrinking or expanding) the actual bar lines as per the way the time warp tool does (visually in on the actual project window - which Artist cannot do) - but this is however visually displayed in the edit Window of the selected track and there I can see, where if I move a tempo node up or down on the tempo track, how the actual bar lines moves left and right (shrinking or expanding - i.e slowing speeding up or slowing down respectively)… So for now, I can happily live with that, for creating music projects with fluctuating tempo - Happy Chappy for now and won’t need to rob the bank in a rush and can concentrate on my music projects once more.

FYI I am running C15 pro on a I7 2600k with an old radeon card without issues. Performance is identical to my dongled C11 pro.

So I would try the C15 pro demo if I were you!

On this old rig There are only 3 plugins I cant run due to no avx2. The yamaha montage vsti and roland RE201 and JC120.

Thanks a lot for your headsup - appreciated.
