I’ve been working on an elaborate orchestral album with many different third-party sample libraries for 18-months on Cubase 14. I’ve heard horror stories upgrading software mid-project. However, I’m hearing mixed feedback regarding Cubase experiences outside this forum. Has anyone upgraded mid-project moving from version 14 to version 15? If so, how was your experience? Are your previous files with all automation information completely intact?
Hi,
Even after the update, you can use Cubase 14 to finish the given project, as you can start Cubase 14 with Cubase 15 license.
On my side, the update was completely smooth.
I upgraded from 14 to 15, and it broke all Track Input Transformers I had on every single track. For the first few versions of C15, the track input transformers were completely bugged and not usable at all. But they fixed this bug now in the maintenance patch, so idk if this breaks if you upgrade now to the newest release.
My template from C14 still won’t load the Track Input Transformers properly in C15.
Aside from the Track Input Transformers, I didn’t have any issue.
And even that is managable, because I still have the earlier versions of cubase installed and I can just open the older projects there.
