Upgrade from Cubase 4.5.2 to V 6 Question: Uninstall 4 ?

Just received my upgrade package.
Can Cubase 6 be installed over Cubase 4.5.2 or should V4 be uninstalled, and then a fresh install of 6 be done?

doesn’t seem to be any guidance on this in quickstart info…

Thanks for any insight.

Cubase 6 like all other versions is a separate installation it installs beside your other versions in its own folder, you can have both version 4 and 6 at the same time.

Not only possibly, but (IMHO) advisable to keep C4 - unless you have a good reason (eg you haven’t actually used C4). I say that because there’s a possibility that a cpr file that worked as you wanted in one version of Cubase might not in a later version.

Also, take care not to over-write a C4-cpr file by opening it in C6 and then saving with the same name. Under some circumstances, the file saved by C6 might open in C4, but you shouldn’t bank on it.
