Upgrade from Cubase 5 Pro to Cubase 11 Pro and trouble with licenses

Hello everyone!

  • I’m running Cubase 5 Pro on PC ‘A’, with no internet connection and the old USB licenser dongle
  • I purchased the upgrade version of Cubase 11 Pro and installed it on PC ‘B’, which has an internet connection.

My questions are the following:

  • Can I run Cubase 11 Pro with a Soft e-licenser or do I have to purchase the new USB licenser dongle?
  • Will I be able to keep running Cubase 5 on PC ‘A’ with the old USB dongle and run Cubase 11 on PC ‘B’ with the new USB dongle?

If you bought an update from C5 to C11, then the license gets updated. You still have one license. If you buy another license, you’ll have two. Cubase Pro requires the USB key, of course.

Thank you for your answer! So, If I understood correctly, I will have only one USB dongle and I will have to move it from PC ‘A’ to PC ‘B’ every time? I won’t be able to run C5 and C11 simultaneously?
