For the current sale I bought Cubase 15 Elements, but after using it for a while I realized that I should get the pro-crossgrade one instead (also on sale). They’ve approved of my crossgrade sale price. I’ve sent a support ticket to ask if I could pay the difference (deduct what I’ve already paid for elements) but they haven’t got back to me. ?
Cross-grade from what to what?
Ok I see.
Sorry I have nothing that will help.
Hopefully someone else here might know more.
Good luck.
Ya, I hope they let me pay the difference. Cubase is way way better. I’m actually ticked that no one bothered to tell me about it before.
Also that padshop tho ![]()
Hi and welcome to the forum,
it depends on your definition of
You can ask for a refund within the first two weeks, afterwards they decide on a case by case basis. Usually, Steinberg support is quite generous.
Since time is of the essence, make sure to contact sales support here:
Scroll down and click on Request Refund.
Cubase Pro is a powerhouse, enjoy!
Only a couple days so far. I didn’t scroll down to see that crossgrade offer at first.
If they don’t get back to me today I’ll send in that refund request. The weekend is coming up then the sale will be over, so I’m starting to get a little nervous over here. Thanks for the help. ![]()
Yes, you should definetly do it that way.
Even if Steinberg support would answer today (it’s after hours here in Germany so I don’t think they will) - they would still
- give you a refund first and
- ask you to buy the new license separatly.
Since you can count on a refund within the first 14 days you should definetly go buy the Pro version while it’s still on offer.
Enjoy!
Ok that’s what I did.
It’s stuck on cubase 15 elements. I uninstalled it and installed the only option “cubase”. The activation manager isn’t giving me an activation for the pro. I don’t think the system gave me my pro license. All the other things are in there just not the daw. ?
Hi,
you got to be patient until you receive a Download Access Code for Cubase Pro via email. Now, you can redeem this code in the Steinberg Download Assistant or in the Activation Manager.
No need to deinstall Elements or any other version because they all share the same installer. After activating your Pro license go to the ‘My Products’ section of the Download Assistant and install everything that comes with Cubase (it’s a lot).
You can open Cubase Pro by simply clicking on the icon - the highest version (Pro in your case) will automatically be selected.
My bad, I forgot to put in the code first. It’s working.
Now to put in the refund request. Wish me luck.
Good luck with the refund and enjoy your Cubase pro.
It’s a monster.. you’ll be discovering new stuff for years.
Yes thank you.
I knew Padshop 2 would be a killer synth. Yup, after going through the presets I had to lie down and have a nap. It’s so good.
Sad all the wasted years trying to manually do things with bad software, while cubase was already doing it all correct already. With things like the media bay, drum maps, groove agent etc.
Ableton has their Push 3, NI has their Machine 3, what does Cubase have?
…an abundance of options and specialized tools that will cover basically everything.
- Halion Sonic (massive)
- Sampler Track
- Retrologue
- Groove Agent SE
- Drum Machine
…and lots more.
True but I meant hardware. I should do a new thread for the question.
Here:
Ah, okay. I thought you were referring to the software side of Machine…
Yes, it’s best to open a new thread since there’s no dedicated Steinberg all-in-one controller. There once was a hardware product line which was flawlessly integrated into Cubase. They still mostly work until this day but they are outdated by now and rarely for sale on the used market.
Auurgh I’ve kind of done a similar thing. Bought the AI to Elements upgrade a few days ago and realised I should have bought Pro. Now the only distributor in Australia doesn’t sell the Elements to Pro upgrade. Looks like I can buy it on the Steinberg site for $50 more but I’m already down $50 for the first purchase. So I’d be $100 down on the deal in a way.
About hardware, Maschine and Ableton are pattern based daws. Their controler or for starting patterns. Cuba de is a linear das, so a keyboard controler makes most sense, not pass. But almost every midi devices can do something meaningful for Cubase. .Its more about what you want to do and if and what you need them.
Most important is a good audio device with good drivers like a rme.
Hi @Kimbo44 ,
you should be able to buy an upgrade from Cubase Elements to Cubase Pro from any online vendor given there’s a working payment method. You will receive a DAC (Download Access Code) via email which has no country/region code whatsoever.
Are you sure there’s only one vendor in Australia?
