Upgrade PC specs or maybe just cloning? (moving to Germany)

I will need to move to Germany for several months, knowing this, I am kind of get a lot of mixing works that I could send in the place were I will go.

So I need to buy a PC that can handle my mixing projects. Right now my PC is:

CPU:
Intel(R) Core™ i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 3501 Mhz, 4 main processors, 4 Logic Processor (LGA 1155)

RAM
Kingston DDR3 2x8GB 667Mhz

Case:
Corsair Obsidian Series® 550D Mid-Tower Quiet Case
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/obsidian-series-550d-mid-tower-quiet-case

Motherboard:
Asus SaberTooth Z77
SABERTOOTH Z77 - Support

Video:
Nvidia GeForce GT 630 1GB DDR3 (Gigabyte)
Tarjetas gráficas GeForce: lo más para jugar en el PC

Cooler :
Corsair H80i

Power:
Corsair TX850 v2
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/enthusiast-series-tx850-v2-80-plus-bronze-certified-850-watt-high-performance-power-supply

SO Disk:
SSD KINGSTON SV300S37A240G (240GB)

First I was thinking in clone this setup, BUT, somethings are kind of hard to get now (like the motherboard), so maybe It’s better to get a better PC instead (If I can afford it!), so it doesn’t get obsolete too soon

I sold lot’s of my stuff and saving for sometime so I think I will raise something between 1000 to 1200 euro.

For work I do mostly mixing up to 50 tracks + 20 VSTis output tracks, I will do (with luck) eventually recordings my top is 24Channels same time (UR824 + OktopreMKii x2)

Do you guys have some recommendations? I know is a large question and there’s no just one answer, but I prefer to get opinions

Regards

You can save few €€ here:

You don’t need 850W power supply. These monsters are designed for gaming PCs with power-hungry Graphics cards and all bells and whistles. Your system is very basic one. Even 450W should be more than enough, but I would buy 500-550W one just in case.

Off-topic:

Is there any chance you can help this guy:

Hi Jarno thanks for your input!

When I updated my last PC I had the trauma of problems with my last PSU, just to had an EMU1820M audiocard and everything inside the box…and also wanted to eventually expand my Video card (I’m a shy gammer!, I have a second partition for gaming) but never changed anything!

I maybe I can upgrade the videocard and get a smaller PSU…mmm…I’m not sure if I can find (or exist) one fanless but with more power.

(I will look the topic you linked)

You can’t just take your current PC with you?

Not really, is quite heavy, (and I have other toys that can’t replace like my guitars)

I will need to pay € 200 or so for extra weight if I decide to take it with me, the same for when I come back.

So since looks like the PSU was an overkill, I change it and the video card so I got option 2:

1 x be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3, CPU-Kühler € 79,90
1 x ASUS GTX750TI, Grafikkarte € 154
1 x be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER 10 600W, Netzteil € 99,90
1 x be quiet! Silent Base 800, Gehäuse € 119,90
1 x Corsair Force LX 2,5" SSD 256 GB € 122,90
1 x ASUS Z97-PRO(Wi-Fi ac), Mainboard € 197,90
1 x Corsair DIMM 16 GB DDR3-1600 Kit, Arbeitsspeicher € 144,90
1 x Intel® Core™ i7-4790K €344

Grand Total: € 1.263,40

The Only thing is that "the don’t know when the i7-4790K will be available :frowning:

You know GTX750 might require more power than GT610?
Quick search:
GTX750: 60W
GT610: 30W
Unfortunately these were from different sources so they may not be completely comparable.

Anyway, the extra 30W should not make your 600W PSU to surrender under increased load.

Yeap, I was even looking at GTX970 but It its just to expensive :frowning: ( I will post a 3th option later)

Ok, I think this is the winner (unless you have some other tips to save some money)

I added the monitor, keyboard, mouse and put the GTX970 !!! (I will eat only water and bread for a while)

If I buy the stuff from different places the total is 1456.97 Euro
