upgraded to WL8 download but won't start

So, I downloaded the upgrade (or update) from WL7 to WL8.
I received an email confirmation that included my activation code.
But I cannot get WL8 to start. It stalled with an error about no elicense being available.
I have a dongle.
When I check my elicenses, WL8 is not there.
What am I doing wrong?

First you need to update your E-licenser software to the latest version. Then in that software you need to input the new activation code: Your WL7 license will be updated to WL8.
