Upgrades from LE 4 to Artist 6.5

I have my LE 4 on my computer that I don’t need anymore. Can I uninstall it?
Right now my USB licenser contain 6.5 artist only, LE 4 is not showing up.
Can I give the CD to a friend?
Would he be able to activate it without a USB key.
Would he be able to upgrade to Artist 6.5 too (If he buy it)?

Probably - if there is an official upgrade available from LE4 to Artist 6.5, and if you haven´t used that version already to upgrade it to C Artist 6.5.

I don’t think so. You used the Cubase LE 4 licence as upgrade. You had to copy the licence to the USB dongle, so there is no soft-licence od Cubase LE 4, now. You can use the LE 4 with the USB dongle only. It’s not possible to move USB-licence back to the soft-licence. So, there is no way, how to give the licence to your friend.

Hi there,

If you have moved the Cubase LE 4 license on the USB- eLicenser and then performed the Upgrade, there is no separate Cubase LE 4 license anymore.
The Cubase LE 4 license has been extended/changed to a Cubase Artist 6.5 license while it was upgraded.

You are always able to open a Cubase LE/AI 4/5/6 with a full Cubase 6.5 or Cubase Artist 6.5 license on a USB- eLicenser.
