Upgrading a Cubase license when also owning a Nuendo license

Hi, I have both Nuendo and Cubase (Nuendo was from a cross grade from Cubase). Most of the time the Cubase features are enough for me in Nuendo, but I wanted to have Nuendo for the extra features.

I see I’m able to upgrade my Cubase. If I did upgrade Cubase, would I also be able to upgrade Nuendo later on, or does that option go away, where I would then have to cross grade to it again?

I saw a notice mentioned that cross grading can only occur once, but I’m trying to think what scenario that would apply to unless you wanted to own two licenses? Thank you!

If you have a Cubase version > 11, you can update both Cubase and Nuendo independently. All crossgrades from Cubase versions ≤ 11 to Nuendo resulted in a non-updatable Cubase license. Nuendo is unaffected and can always be updated.

Hi,

Do you see both licenses in the Steinberg Activation Manager? If this is the case, you can use them independently.
