Hi there. I am a Dorico 4 Pro user looking to do three things and I am getting confused by how and which order to do them in. I would like to:
1. Add a license to my new computer
2. Remove license from my old computer (stolen)
3. Upgrade from Dorico 4 to Dorico 6
Right now I tried installing Dorico 4 on my computer and I clicked “activate” in the Steinberg Activation Manager but then when I try to download Dorico it says No License Found despite having one. Should I just try to upgrade my license to Dorico 6 first and install that since that is what I want anyways? And how do I do that?
I’m not sure that you need to do anything with v4 since you can have more than 1 version of Dorico active at any time. So, I would do the upgrade, enter the activation code into Steinberg Download Assistant (log into Steinberg through Download Assistant if prompted) and install the new version.
I would, though, try to deactivate the license on the stolen machine via SAM so that it cannot be used and then notify Steinberg that any reactivation would be from the stolen device. Maybe they can remove that version from your SAM so that whomever has your other machine cannot access your upgrade.
To purchase the upgrade, go to https://www.steinberg.net/dorico/ , click on Buy then click on Buy Dorico Pro 6, then Updates and Upgrades, then Update Dorico Pro 4…and follow the instructions to buy. I did a cross grade and had to enter an activation code in Download Manager in order to download v6 so watch for that. Once purchased, single click on Dorico Pro 6 in the Download Manager, enter the activation code (if asked) and then install everything on the right hand side of the screen from Download Manager.
