Upgrading CPU : New Software/PlugIn Installation?

hello everyone,

i’m wondering: i want to install a new i7 980 cpu onto my existing computer/motherboard (asus p6td deluxe)… i’m ugrading from a 920…

did anyone upgrade his existing computer/daw cpu-wise?
do i have to install every piece of software (windows, cubase, 3rd party plugins, hardware driver ect) after installing the new cpu? every other piece of hardware will stay the same?

you wont have to do anything other than physically replace the procesor

is there probably someone who upgraded the cpu to an 980?
what kind of fan/cooler do you use? I don’t want to remove the motherboard to install a backplate, some cooler/fans use…
