Upgrading from LE to Elements

HI

I have just purchased an update from Cubase 15 LE that came with a Focusrite Audio Interface. I have the serial number, all good, i have entered it into Download assistant, clicked on Elements 15 as one of the licenses that i own but it repeatedly downloads Cubase 15LE, Can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong? its driving me mad!!

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum!

After purchasing the upgrade from Cubase LE to Cubase Elements you received a separate email containing a Download Access Code (DAC). I guess that’s the serial number you mentioned, right? You need to redeem the DAC using your existing Steinberg account with the registered LE-Version. This can be done in the Steinberg Download Assistent. Afterwards, you should see all registered products under “My Products”. It might take a moment to see the license.

If Cubase LE 15 is already installed on your system then you don’t have to download Cubase again because all versions share the exact same installer. Usually, the highest version will automatically open after launching Cubase. You can also hold Alt/Option during launch to pick the version you want to open.

If you click on Cubase Elements 15 in the Download Manager you’ll see a lot of additional new content and other products related to your new Elements version. These items need to be installed separatly.

First thing I would do, though, is to check if you entered the Download Access Code using the correct account (email) that holds your previously registered LE version.

Thanks for that but for some reason the first 3 or 4 times despite Elements 15 being clearly marked as one of my licenses every time I tried to download it and open it it always deferred to Le!!.. Finally it did open as Elements from a different desktop shortcut than the original one that is just described as Cubase 15:person_shrugging:t4:

The main thing is that it’s all good now, now I just have to learn the bits that are different to LE!

Thanks again
