UR22 MKII on Arch Linux

Hey there,
I was quite happy to receive my UR22 MKII, it was also immediately found by my laptop, but I don’t get any sound … when I select it in “alsamixer”, I’ll get this:

[Clock Source 41 Validity]

What am I doing wrong here? And, does it work with the ALSA driver, or should I choose Pulseaudio or Jack? I really don’t know what to do. Help appreciated!

(I also created a similar thread in the arch linux forums, maybe I’m being too impatient, but there has been no reply yet, so I hope at least someone on here can offer some advice)

My system:

Hi,

I seem to recall that there is an issue with this device and you need to edit something, but I might be mistaken. IOW I don’t remember what you need to edit.

You didn’t say how you try to use the device.

General advices that could help:

If you shouldn’t need pulseaudio, but some packages should have hard dependencies to pulseaudio, consider to replace the pulseaudio package by an empty dummy package.

cd /tmp
mkdir pulseaudio
cd pulseaudio
echo "pkgname=pulseaudio" > PKGBUILD
echo "pkgver=2016.11.29" >> PKGBUILD
echo "pkgrel=1" >> PKGBUILD
echo "pkgdesc=\"Dummy package\"" >> PKGBUILD
echo "arch=('any')" >> PKGBUILD
echo "provides=('pulseaudio')" >> PKGBUILD
makepkg
sudo pacman -U pulseaudio-2016.11.29-1-any.pkg.tar.xz

It’s also a good idea to ensure that your USB device always is hw:0, the default device. If running

ls /etc/modprobe.d/alsa*

doesn’t show a file, then run

sudo echo "options snd slots=snd_usb_audio" > /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

and reboot.

Regards,
Ralf

You have a corrupt cmd intelligence. Microsoft has a library called RevoScaleR, based on a language now known as R that tracks a higher intent while SQL waits

Singularity is the best word I have for this problem
