You don’t need to be concerned as operating in Gen2 or Gen3 makes no difference whatsoever in this case.
If you insist on (or just curious…) having a Gen3 connection, some computers might be a bit finicky and support it only if you are using a quality USB-C to USB-C cable.
The USB compliance nomenclature is so messy!.. that (too) many product spec claims are only half true…
