My setup has a ground loop and to get rid of it, I installed a USB isolator to be used with my UR242. The isolator does what it’s supposed to but I also started getting intermittent audio cut offs. The isolator lowers the current in the USB cable down to 200mA form the regular 500mA. How much current does the UR242 require from the USB cable, and could this explain the audio getting cut off at times?
I am not sure of the answer to your question but what is the current rating on the power supply? Do you get the drops when using the DC power supply? I have a UR44 and like using the Dc power because the UR gets uninterrupted power that way. The USB bus loses power during restarts, etc.
Oh, does the 242 come with a DC supply?
