UR24C : switching to DAW mode

Hi,
I’m considering upgrading from UR22 to UR24C so I have questions.

  • Do I absolutely need dspMixFx UR-C to switch to DAW mode?
  • If yes, do I have to keep dspMixFx UR-C running in order to stay on DAW mode? Or can I switch and then uninstall and forget about it?
  • Does dspMixFx UR-C need Cubase or any DAW capable of hosting VST will do? Long gone are my Cubase days, sorry for that.
  • Any Yamaha Steinberg USB driver after 2.1.1 doesn’t work for me. Will it be a problem? Knowing that the 2.1.1 does work with the UR24C.

Screw that I got myself the UR22C and it works like a charm. I’m returning the UR24C. I don’t need an interface that doesn’t have direct monitoring out of the box.
