UR28M missing after Sonoma 14.6.1 update :(

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with my UR28m after updating to Sonoma 14.6.1. The audio interface is no longer showing up as an output option on my Mac.

After the installation reboot, I got a ‘System Extension Error’, and despite my efforts to locate the issue(s), I can’t figure out what’s going on…

  • I reinstalled ‘TOOLS_for_UR28M_V230_Mac’.
  • I checked System Settings > Privacy & Security and didn’t see anything that could be related to the issue.
  • It was working until the update but I went back to reconfirm the UR28m is listed as compatible with Sonoma on Steinberg’s website.

If anyone has encountered a similar issue or has any suggestions, I’d be grateful for your help

Thank you!

The issue’s been solved!
A buddy of mine went through the Privacy & Security settings with me one by one.

The option is gone now but under System Settings > Privacy & Security, there was a "System software from developer ________ " option and I selected “Detail” which brought up a new window that allowed me to switch things on/off with a toggle button. I forgot the name of it already but, it was an audio driver.

The UR28m came back after restart

Hey @125 , any idea what the option was called? Have the same issue with my UAD sound card on 14.6.1. I still get the error after restarting and trying everything in recovery mode.

I’ve given full disk access as well, but I’m not seeing this ‘System software from developer…’ toggle option you mentioned. Possible to check with your buddy?

Thanks.

I believe this was it:

instead of “allow”, I believe mine said “details”.

Hope this helps!

Ah, I’ve already seen that thread. Same issue here, it says ‘Details’ but there is nothing which seems to get rid of it unfortunately. Stuck with my soundcard not working.
