UR44C INPUTS 1 thru 4, Mic and Line Level set by cable type?

Hello,
How to select mic/line level of inputs 1 thru 4 ?

…information in the UR44C Owners manual…
For connection to a microphone or digital instrument. This
jack can be connected to both XLR-type and phonetype
(balanced/unbalanced) plugs.
The XLR type is MIC only
and the phone type is LINE only.

So does this mean that if an XLR is used, the input level will be automatically set to Mic. , because the cable connector is XLR ?

Also, the line out of the devices connected are connected by XLRs , and the Mics are all connected by phone type cable connectors.

Please advise… is there a software switch that allows the inputs 1 thru 4 levels to be selected between Mic. and Line?
and if so, where are the directions for this selection.

Mics SM58 have to be set to 90% of max input gain to even be heard thru the mixer.

Thanks

Yes that’s correct. Both of those input connectors use a different circuit.

Also, the line out of the devices connected are connected by XLRs , and the Mics are all connected by phone type cable connectors.

Both are the wrong type. For hardware devices with line levels you must use the JACK input for the correct line level, not the XLR.

Mics SM58 have to be set to 90% of max input gain to even be heard thru the mixer.

If the mic has a low output level that gain-setting could be possible, but you have to use XLR cables for a mic.
