UR824 and UR28M crash Cubase with large projects

Hi,

I have the following issue on two different PC’s:

Recently I changed to the UR824 on the DAW in my home studio (24GB RAM, Windows 7, Cubase 6.5) and to the UR28M at work (32GB RAM, Windows Vista, Cubase 6.0.7).

With the new audio interfaces I cannot open my large orchestral projects anymore (smaller projects still work). Cubase crashes immediately after loading the samples and trying to initialize the audio interface:

I am using the latest drivers and firmware. The projects worked flawlessly with my older audio interfaces. They contain approximately ten instances of East West Play (Hollywood Strings & Brass, SD2), two or three Kontakt instances for woodwinds and percussion and the VSL Ensemble for some additional woodwinds.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? I urgently need a quick solution to this because I’m not able to work anymore!!

Thank you & best wishes,
Iris Wallner

this might be related to a similar issue with the MR interfaces. The work around was to remove the MR (UR) extensions which stopped the crashes but obviously you loose the integration and have to use the stand alone editor.

Thanks for the hint - how do I remove those extensions?

BTW, I narrowed down the problem. It’s definitely an issue between East West Play and the UR interfaces. I’m going to post my results in a new thread.
