UR824 Hi-Z "Do not connect or disconnect a device whilst turning on the Hi-Z switch"

I know this is going to sound a silly question but I’m not sure what the UR824 manual means when it says “Do not connect or disconnect a device whilst turning on the Hi-Z switch.”

Does it mean:

  1. “Do not connect or disconnect a device whilst the Hi-Z switch is on”?
  2. “Do not turn the Hi-Z switch on whilst a device is connected”?
  3. “Do not connect or disconnect a device whilst turning on the Hi-Z switch simultaneously”?

It must mean #3 because I do #1 and #2 all the time with no problems.
