Urgent - C10 - 'invalid project file' error after crash - can I recover my project?

Hi all,

I was just working on a session, running off an external powered hard drive when it got disconnected for some reason, which caused my system to restart and now when I try to open the project it just gives me an ‘invalid project file!’ error. Screenshot attached.

I’m suspecting (obviously) that the disconnection midway is what has possibly corrupted the session, but for some reason Cubase did not create any .bak files at all, even though my autosave is set to 3 minutes. The project folder has literally zero .bak files in it.

Is there any thing I can do at all to salvage my session or am I going to have to recreate everything?

I’m on a 2015 15" Retina Macbook Pro running MacOS 10.14.

Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

Anyone? SB support?

Thanks for nothing, I guess…

Hi, I think you need to create a support ticket (go to your “My Steinberg” to do this). This forum is not a direct support channel.
