I am new to this.
I have 8.5 Artist edition with a Presonus Audio BoxUSB DAW.
I can not hear anything through the VST amp rack.
I open up Device setup and the direct monitor is grayed out.
It sounds like I need an ASIO 2 driver but am unable to locate.
Is this what I need?
Where can I find it?
Is there a work around?
also tried my Steinburg UR22, same issue.
You do not need an ASIO 2 driver, you need an interface that supports ASIO direct monitoring, which neither of those you mention does.
Read up in the manuals of the interfaces about their direct monitoring capabilities and settings. Mostly it´s a mix knob.
