I’m not sure where the problem lays down, in WaveLab Pro 12 Trial, or Cubase Pro 13 itself, but after some time Cubase freezes / hangs… But the Process Explorer shows that Cubase is working fine.
Hi @Thurisaz - is it worth posting the Cubase dump file to the Cubase forum pages too.? Just saying; maybe both teams need to be involved…
Anyway, made me think of a few things here.
Was this ‘after some time’ equivalent to overnight say, or a few hours/minutes of inactivity.? Or after some activity working on other (unrelated) things in the same Cubase project.?
What was ‘happening’ when Cubase finally hung/froze on you (were you just mouse scrolling, or running a MediaBay scan, or moving events, editing midi, exporting something else from the same project, tweaking some external hardware processing you were hooked up to, etc, etc…).? Or, was it just ‘frozen’ when you came back to the app after a period away (had the app/system gone into sleep mode)…?
I guess the dump file should reveal more ‘inner’ detail of course. But, the more clues the better in my book, when reporting these things.!
“a some time” here means between 15 - 20min. of active involvement of both Cubase and WaveLab as an ARA2 plugin.
The problem occurs on playback stop, mostly.
In this particular project I’m processing a single, stereo, track concert audio imported with the belonging video. Nothing else.
Cubase is set to create a backup in every 20 min.
It could the Auto Saving function that leads to this issue, when WaveLab is involved?!
WaveLab is only involved if the audio is currently modified by WaveLab, for a Cubase event.
The dump you have uploaded brings no info from the WaveLab point of view.
Hi @PG1 ,
Well I don’t know, but I’m getting this hang when WaveLab is involved as an ARA2 plugin in Cubase. I can reproduce it every time when when WaveLab is added.
I doing just Volume Envelope and Gain processing on some of the audio sections. Nothing else.
I have noticed that hang / freeze occurs only when WaveLab was actively involved in the processing. If it’s just added to the project, but not actively engaged in, no issues…
Probably the problem is ARA 2 related, and it’s integration with WaveLab and Cubase + the Auto Saving?!
After killing the Cubase process tree, and starting it again it gives me the opportunity to open a backup file, but it’s broken.
The audio file size I’m trying to process is about 1.47GB. If it matters.
