Hello. I use Cubase 11 pro, usb license. I know that soon steinber will refuse usb license.
Question: how can I transfer Cubase 11 pro from usb license to soft license?
Many familiar users are also concerned about this…
You can’t transfer Cubase 11 to Steinberg licensing. You either update before the elicenser goes down or you continue using elicenser usb which will work as long as the dongle doesn’t fail.
Soft licenser as I understand it, only Cubase 12 works?
Is the only thing left for me to do is to update to version 14?
What a pity, I was hoping that I could transfer my version 11 now, and then update over time.
Apparently my version 11 will turn into a vegetable, it’s a shame if that’s the case.
Yes C12 was the first version working on Steinberg licensing system.
You could hold off for a bit and see if there is any last chance sale on updates to 14 before the closedown.
You can use it for as long as the dongle lasts. If you look after it, the dongle, that is, it will last a long time. My one is 14 years old. I wrapped it in gaffa tape to protect it.
Keep a copy of the e-Licenser installer, just in case.
Thank you all
It might be worth mentioning that you could register your old license on your Steinberg account, if you haven’t already. That way if something happens to your dongle then you have proof that the old license belongs to you and maybe Steinberg can offer you an individual solution as they call it.
