Anyone have opinions about how a synth/workstation should be hooked up?
Interface: Steinberg UR44
Synth: Korg Kronos X
Hi, if a midi controller keyboard is hooked up via USB there is a very slight increase in realtime latency when playing and recording VST instruments when compared to being connected via tradition 5 pin din.
However, you’re having a Kronos X. If memory serves, Korg has their own Kronos USB Drivers and Editing Software. Try both connections and see which gives you better realtime performance.
You may also want to hook up the Audio Outputs of the Kronos to input 5 & 6 of the UR44 for audio recording.
