Use fixed volume to play selected notes

I was about to make a feature request that when selecting notes they would sound at the appropriate dynamic. Then I discovered the “Use fixed volume to play selected notes” under preferences. This was not enabled, which I assume means Dorico should play the selected note at the appropriate dynamic. I decided to play with it, and regardless if I have this preference enabled or disable or set the velocity to 10 or 100, the selected notes always sound at the same volume.

Am I misunderstanding what this preference is for or is this a known issue? Is there any current way to get the behavior I’m looking for?

That preference works fine here as long as I’m using HSSE. If I’m using NotePerformer the fixed velocity makes no difference to anything.

Yes, I’m using NotePerformer. So that would seem to be where the fault lies. Thanks!
