Use Iconica Sketch AUv3 in Dorico for iPad

I’m considering buying the Dorico for iPad Lifetime unlock, but since my iPad only has 128 GB and I’m using a lot of it for recordings in Cubasis, I don’t want to install the included Iconica Sketch and Etude sound libraries. Also, since I already own the Iconica Sketch AUv3 version and have great AUv3 pianos, I don’t need them.

Can anyone confirm whether I can use the Lifetime unlock without those Dorico sound libraries installed, but instead use my existing Iconica Sketch AUv3 for playback in Dorico?

Also, if I do this, would I still have access to the Iconica Sketch-specific notation tied playback controls in Dorico, or are those controls only available when the Dorico version of Iconica Sketch is installed and being used?

Normally the Steinberg installers can see whether you have a library already in stalled and will not install a duplicate, so you are likely safe on the Iconica Sketch; not sure about the Etude piano.

Thanks, @Derrek, the problem is that you can’t do separate installs of Etude and Iconica, they both get installed. But that’s still good to know, because then installing the Etude piano on top might be worth it, as one can never have too many good sounding pianos lol

You can technically use the Iconica Sketch AUv3 in Dorico for iPad, but it won’t have the same nice integration as the built-in version that can automatically load sounds, choose the expression map for you, etc.
