Use instrument editor to define global percussion playing techniques

I am trying to define all playing techniques for the percussion instruments I use using the instrument editor using the “edit playing techniques” button on the top right. After entering the techniques I activate the star to make them what is called “default” in this editor and what I hope has the same effect as in all other Dorico lists i.e. making the entries globally valid for all new projects.

(I know about the workaround importing a saved drum kit with all techniques and instruments but on the long run this is getting a tiresome.)

The method works e.g. for snare drum, bass drum, anvil, bell tree, tam-tam, and triangle. For clash and suspended cymbals however the method seems to fail. If I enter the techniques for one cymbal, also the other seems to adopt these techniques. I tried several times. Each time the last entries become valid for both instruments. In reality these instruments have significantly different techniques however so they have to be independent.

Am I doing something wrong or is this on purpose?

A further observation all cymbals in the instrument list except “crash cymbal (low)” inherit the last saved techniques. Even the “crash cymbal (high)” but not the low version.
