Use Mobile Monitor instead of iPad?

This is not directly a Dorico question.
Some people don’t feel comfortable throwing their expensive iPad into the rough world of rehearsal and performing situations.
Has anybody so far had experience with Mobile Monitors?
They have sizes from 14-16" inches, Full HD resolution and are quite affordable, 200-300$.
They would mirror the screen of a Smartphone via USB-C cable connection.
In these days, where people have very capable Smartphones, could this be an alternative for reading music / pdf files?

Presumably, these monitors would need to be plugged in to a power supply? – unless you run them off your phone’s battery. Hopefully you’ll get through the concert…

The Monitor wouldn’t work as a touch interface, so you’d have to still swipe the phone to turn pages.

Mind you, phones are not much cheaper, these days!

Yes monitors could use the sockets, where usually desk light get plugged in.
If the screen could be mirrored somehow through a bluetooth connection, one could leave the phone in the pocket… just a thought.
