Something odd happened to my Cubase 5. I used to just pull the edge to editing audio to size. Then I could always pull it out a bit. Now I have to cut… I know damn well this is a preference of some sort but I cant find it.
Can anyone help?

If there is no more audio material, you cannot extend the event.
By default, there is 1sec pre-record time, so you should have 1sec on the left side. You can set this in the Preferences > Record > Audio > Audio Pre-Record > Seconds.
