Using a DM7 to mix an ATMOS project

Plus, Steinberg/Yamaha employ very intelligent people. They’ve likely taken the current path very purposely.

Dm-7 development was done with Cubendo right there in-existence and in discussions, hence, the out-of-the-gate integration…as light as it is.

There’s certainly a reason for things being what they are at this moment.

For all we know, SB has been doing a complete ground-up re-write of the entire Cubendo code over the past two years for rollout in the next couple of years.

If SB/Yamaha are fully aware of THAT…and perhaps/perhaps not plan on doing some collaborative 2026 controller project under those conditions…that would be a reason for the non-action now.

There’s just no way for us to know.

That is such a shame because the screen on the DM7, besides being lower and thus not blocking the monitors like Nuage, is so much better (clearer, sharper, clearer feedback, more feedback in a glance, etc. )than the one offered by Nuage. It’s the same difference as the feedback from the Artist Series and then going to Avid Control on the tablet with S1.

I’m pulling the trigger on an S1 in a few days. EUCON looks to be better than the SSL (MCU) controller that I’m using now. I use PT and Nuendo, so it makes sense for me.
