Using a footswitch to Start and Stop Recording

Is this possible? I have two sustain pedals and I was hoping to set one up to be able to start and stop recording within Cubase. I have a Studiologic Sl88

Your 828x should have a footswitch connector on the back.
It can be setup in the motu software to send keystrokes for pedal down and up.

You can use the Generic Remote to respond to a MIDI trigger which will activate Start and Stop and Record or StartStop. I don’t use a sustain pedal although it should work. I have successfuly used drum triggers and MIDI keyboard footswitches.

Hmmm, I can’t seem to get it to work with the Motu and I have no idea how to set it up in Cubase. A Midi learn feature would be really nice. Just right click whatever icon you want and hit learn and then press your midi instrument or pedal, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks
