Just got extinction level events to use with cubase 15 elements but I can open it up as an instrument. but I don’t know how to proceed using it as a drum track or programming them. Please help. Also I’m a dummy when it come to this considering I’ve spent the last 15 years using adobe audition 1.0 So yes I’m behind and this is a hell of an upgrade for me so any help would be greatly appreciated. I don’t like feeling like I’ve spent alot of money on daw’s and plug in and cain’t figure out how to use.
Im a drummer and sound guy but all self taught. I’m willing to pay for someone time if they can help me make this work or help them in return.
There are very good Chris Selim or Dom Sigalas tutorials on YouTube. Hope that helps.
that will make those two work together?
I have looked at his vidoes just didn’t know him by name. but none of them are helping me with getting extinction level events working with cubase 15 elements that’s my issue. cubase will bring it up and recognize it. but mapping is different and how do I program with it once mapping is done that’s my problem
bot great people to watch but so far have not touched my issues. thank you so much for trying to help
Chernobyl Audio has a video called cubase drum map setup - everything you need to know. Is the closest thing I have found to help but he’s using EZ drummer 3 and I have extinction level events and some of the things he’s doing won’t work for me. I’ve watched his few times. I get close with most of it but still stuck
I am not familiar with this. What is it?
I looked it up. I think it’s a drum instrument for Kontakt.
Ah, a Kontakt instrument.
Well, then you hopefully already have Kontakt (VST3 plugin) installed.
In Cubase create an Instrument track with Kontakt on it. Inside Kontakt load the Extinction Level Event Master Kit.
I have gotten that far. Even tride doing the mapping but sounds are different from map to kit. Also once mapping is done i can’t figure out how to create an actual track. I know im missing something stupid just over whelmed but everything lol
There is the so called track list. In the top left corner it has a button with a + on it.
This will allow you to add an (Instrument) track.
Please also see the manual:
Already got that far couldn’t do the mapping with doing that first. And if the manual was helpful I wouldn’t be here. But thanks for trying
You wrote that you cannot create a track, so my answer is how to create a track. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I’ve already got a and b. And e and f won’t be a problem it’s the c and d im having the issues with… trying not to lay out 179. Dollars on another plug-in just to follow along with the videos…
Oh, I only know about a and b. For c and d @Googly_Shakespeare is the master.
I’m confused.
I don’t even know what c and d are.

Are you attempting to play the plugin ‘realtime’ using an external keyboard (or a screen virtual keyboard)?
Or are you attempting to create (write) midi patterns of individual drums (kick snare) and percussion (cow bell tambourine) in a stepwise fashion on the instrument track (on screen using a mouse), then playing back that sequence of patterns set to a tempo determined by a separate tempo track?
Actually both. But primarily the second part.. id like to be able to do both. But i think the second part if harder which is why im starting there
I don’t have Kontakt instruments, but the principle should be the same as creating a Groove Agent SE (GA_SE) pattern track, surely? Your Kontakt drum instrument must have playable PADS with MIDI notes assigned to different drum instruments (eg C1 = kick, D1 = snare) surely? If not, then the following may not help you. But you could always create a Groove Agent SE drum track if all else fails (assuming CB Elements has GA_SE)?
In the above example, using Groove Agent SE (GA_SE) instead of your plug-in:
- Create an instrument track (GA_SE). Set the output of GA_SE to Stereo Out.
- Create a MIDI track and set the output of the MIDI track to GA_SE.
- Using the DRAW tool, draw a 12 bar recording area within the empty, blank, bars of the MIDI track.
- Double-click the drawn MIDI track recording area and the lower window pane will open.
- In the lower pane, using the lefthand keyboard as a note reference for each drum instrument (eg in GA_SE, C1 = Kick, D1 =snare), draw a drum pattern (double clicking a blank bar area will create a note, then drag it to the correct reference for the kick etc).
The key step that you may have missed is creating a MIDI track to play your plug-in?
When you play back the MIDI track it will send its notes to the Groove Agent SE instrument, and the Groove Agent SE instrument will send the output signal to Stereo out.
