Using Halion Sonic 2 with Cubase 6.5

I am using Halion Sonic 2 with Cubase 6.5.

I am also using an UltraNova keyboard with Halion Sonic 2 VST instruments.

I create a new MIDI track, set the correct MIDI channel in both Cubase and Halion Sonic.

After arming the track, I press the keys on the UltraNova. Cubase at this point starts doing weird things.

The track that I just created will disappear altogether. Sometimes, the Cubase MIDI Channel Settings box will pop up.

This depends on which effect I select from Halion Sonic but it seems to be random.

Do you guys have any idea what could be causing this. I did reinstall all software on Windows 7.

Looks like you have a remote control device activated, which receives the keyboard commands.

I have no idea what you are speaking of. Remote control device ???

The UltraNova is USB attached to the computer. Halion Sonic is running on the Computer using MIDI channel 1. I am running Norton Internet security on the PC. That is all I can think of.

This might be the point then to look things up in the manual - chapter “remote controlling Cubase” - lots of new things to learn.
