I’m running a UR 816C into Cubase 10.5. I’ve been very satisfied overall using it for tracking and mixing but have a question about using compressor’s when tracking. As there are no insert jacks for any of the channels on the 816C, how are you all using outboard (or other) compression when tracking, for example, vocals? Patchbay? Mic pre output → compressor input → UR816C? As I understand it, neither the comps in DspFx nor the channel strips in Cubase itself do compression before the A/D conversion. Looking for ideas on how to handle tracking with comps using the 816C into Cubase.
