I’m using external instrument keyboard to create song as 16 midi tracks.
.Im using the same timbre sound on a couple of different tracks.
Even I can hear the frequency clash.
Can I use Phase in Cubase Midi External Instruments.
Or does phase only work when the track is audio.
I can’t separate these tracks in a final audio mix as I have to use stereo out from external instrument to record to cubase.
Thanks
If by “phase” you mean a Phaser Effect then no it only works on Audio.
You can separate the various instruments by Muting all the Instruments except one & render that that to Audio. Repeat as needed for additional Instruments. Once rendered you can apply Audio Effects to them.
Hi Raino sorry for not expressing myself properly.
I was referring to phase as in changing the phase of signals so two separate tracks are not in phase at the same time.
I’m not referring to using a phaser effect.
Sounds as if in and out if phase has to be applied to an audio signal.
Like the phase button you would have on each channel of a mixing desk.
That’s a great bit of advice to allow me to render the individual tracks to audio.
I guess after the tracks are in audio I could then use the phase function on cubase mixing console.
Yes. Rendering to Audio and then applying Audio processing is commonly used workflow in Cubase.
