UX Problem: Scrolling through preset kruft

When I need to quickly load a custom preset, I’m forced to scroll through the packaged presets. And there is no option provided that completely removes them. I have to go through all of this AM preset stuff and hope I don’t accidently scroll past something I’m looking for.

Since we have one hand tied behind our back on this, what’s the easiest way to find and locate your own presets? I understand I can stop and type some stuff in but if you don’t recall the exact name, it’s easier to scroll through or at least one would hope. Suggestions?

I prefix all my presets with a relatively uncommon 2 character combination (e.g. “n5”) followed by a space and then a normal name.

This also includes Cubase preference presets and anything where Steinberg likes to intermingle factory presets and user presets.

And then I use that prefix in the search box.

You can create a name with a prefix as @Nico5 suggested or you can even save a keyword (or keywords) of your choice to the “Comment” attribute of the presets. If you then set “Comment” as a column to the Attribute pane, you can immediately choose the one assigned to your custom presets.

You can also give your own presets a Rating of ‘*****’ and filter by this when opening them.

In this case, please tag immediately with BOF (boring, ordinary, faulty)!
