V1.4.53 - Click generator minor glitch

Hi! I runned to these, can’t remember or tell if existed before last fridays 1.4.53 (probably existed)

  • New project
  • Set metronome to 79 4/4
  • Let PLAY with METRO
Click divisions are played sometimes degraded (experiencing degraded attack or volume)

There is another one: if precount-preroll is set by time 0.5sec, it meight become imprecise right at -0 point (when preroll and start-0-pos are handshaking)

These are really-really minor ones, won’t lead anyone fail to play the gig, but wanted to let you know about my experiences.

Just to give some idea, what am I talking about:

We found the cause for this, but it is a bit more complex, and we will fix it, but it will not make it into the next (probably today) version yet.
But should be fixed in the following version (next week, we hope).

Dear @musicullum , thank you for your reply!
No worries about, these aren’t gig stopper ones at all. Everyone will be happy with the polishment in any upcoming version

It’s clicking lovely now

p.s.: after just quickly checked, it seems second issue still persists on my laptop
(second issue here, with video:

Yes, sorry, still on our list and didn’t quite make it into this version. Next should do though.

Oh, I just wanted to give a feedback regarding
Have a beautiful weekend :sun_with_face:

This problem is still existing and i experienced it with v1.4.53 and v2…

I submitted a support ticket but have not received any answer yet. For me, this problem is still not fixed. I share my observations though:

If the songtempo is dividable by 30, there is no problem at all. So at 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 and so on, everything works as expected.

If I change the bpm to something „off the grid“ i experience the click issues.
Additionally it gets worse, if you increase the buffersize in the asio driver.

Hi @clsky,

make sure that you are running the latest version. You can download it here. The current version is called 2.1.18. Can you still reproduce glitch and click issues? If that’s the case, please create an example project, archive and shared it with us. Then we can analyse the problem. To Create am Archive, please execute “VST Live / Menu / Save Archive …”, select an empty folder, zip that folder and drop the zip file here.

Thank you,
Michael.

Hi Michael. Thank you for replying.

Sorry, I posted the wrong version. Right now I am running the latest build for v1: v1.4.71.918 (x86_64) as stated in the about screen (although I run it on Mac M1 without Rosetta).

I have not upgraded my license, because of these technical issues with v1 and because my support ticket was not answered yet. When I tested v2, the same issue existed but this is already 4-5 weeks ago . I am using a Mac M1, but tried it also on a windows machine with the same result.

You should be able to reproduce the Problem without an example project. Any new blank project could be used. You just have to alter the bpm like I wrote above.

Can you have a look at the issued tickets? I posted the problem with an example video there, but did not receive any confirmation.

Thank you in advance

… yes, I’ve checked VL 1.4.71 with a tempo of 121 and I can hear the glitches. Sorry. But I’ve checked VL 2.1.18 and there are no glitches! So, it has been fixed.

I doubt that there will be another 1.4.x update which will fix that issue. Can you try out V2 again? Is your Trial time finished? I can manage that you’ll get another trial, but I need your MySteinberg account. Just drop me with all the infos.

See you,
