Hello Dorico users,
It’s finally here! v2 of my marching band template. I decided to create a new post for v2. I took into consideration and applied all of the feedback from v1. I want to say thank you to those of you who did suggest changes. They were very helpful to make v2 even better. There are over 20 different changes made!
Some of the major features that standout are the following:
-
There are now four different variations of the project template
-
Instruments that should have been using the condensing feature are now condensed
-
All of the variations of the template now have playback sounds (see the readme file on how to use playback for the template)
-
Custom playback, stage and space templates have been made for a better playback experience
-
I included a sample piece to showcase what music looks like on each of the different variations of the project template
-
More professional layout changes to all of the different variations of the template
-
More engraving, layout and notation settings have been tweaked to make the score and individual parts look more professional
This has honestly been a very fun challenge for me, especially for somebody that is an engraver, an arranger, and a guy that just likes to make things to keep his mind thinking. I still hope that the Dorico team includes their own marching band template in the future. Until then, I hope you consider using mine, and make very beautiful and professional looking arrangements and or compositions!
This is the final version of my marching band template. There will be no updates moving further. With the amount of time it took to make v2, I’m moving on to other projects.
Huge shoutouts to the following people for their generous amount of help and suggestions to make the template even better:
God bless,
TCB
