Valenton GP-5

Impossible to use Cubasis 3.7.8 with Valenton GP-5 as an audio interface card.
Cubasis will not accept 44.1KHz 16bit required by Valenton GP-5 for starters.
It default to 48KHZ ridiculously.
Cubase Artist 11 Windows recognises Valenton GP-5 even via Bluetooth. That is a shame.
Please help with my Ipad 9th Generation with Cubasis 3.7.8 ?

Thanks

Hi @BrunoMaia

Thanks for your message.

Located under “Setup/Project”, you can configure your project-related settings (such as 44.1 kHz, 16-bit). Please note that the available options depend on the iOS or iPadOS device in use, as well as the capabilities of any connected audio device.

Cubasis for iOS/iPadOS fully supports the use of class-compliant audio devices, which normally work via plug-and-play (no driver installation required).

Please note that support for using an audio device with desktop systems does not guarantee compatibility with iOS or iPadOS. Instead, please check with your device manufacturer to confirm whether your audio device is class-compliant and compatible with iOS and/or iPadOS.

Below, you’ll find a brief guide on how to use audio devices with Cubasis for recording purposes.

Best,
Lars

Thank you very much.

As far as I know, Valenton GP-5 is recognised by Cubase 11 Windows desktop after installing its driver.

On my ipad 9th gen updated Cubase 3.7 Valenton GP-5 appears not to be recognised, yet.

Anyway, GP-5 has a 44.1kHz sample rate on 16 bit, never to be used for publishing quality recordings. It is still good for recording practice sessions, in my opinion.

Being able to record my solo jazz guitar gigs still requires bringing at least my most portable interface, an old Steinberg UR22 mkii.

Your videos are also very informative. Thank you.

Best regards,

Bruno Maia.

Hi @BrunoMaia

Please get in touch with Valeton and share your problem with them. I’m at hand to provide them with a Cubasis promo code for testing purposes, if required.

In addition, please make sure that the permission to use the mic has been enabled properly (see step description below for more details).

Please keep me updated.

Best,
Lars

Starting Cubasis the very first time, a popup asking your permission to use the microphone appears, which has to be accepted. If you tapped “no” by accident, please change the setting manually as follws:

  • Please go to the iPad settings
  • There please go to Privacy / Microphone
  • Please make sure to enable Microphone use with Cubasis
