For upcoming VariAudio v4 technology…
- Auto sibilance/breath detection with dedicated editing control
- Take any number of tips/ideas (relatively easy to implement) from Melodyne to add into VA
- Longer term, full Polyphonic editing (like melodyne)…
- This post for manipulating the actual pitch curve itself (specifically for vibrato control)
VariAudio - Is There a Way to Straighten a Vibrato Pitch Curve Without Flattening It? - Cubase - Steinberg Forums
- shorter, more immediate term, see 1 above…
Have to say, I’m a pretty happy bunny with VA as is - but adding item 1 above would really, really help my editing workflow (in one window)…
Being able to assign Variaudio parameters to a MIDI controller would also speed up the workflow. Thank you Puma!
Maybe just buy Melodyne so you don’t have to wait for these feature
Did you check out Repitch from Synchroarts? It have got some great features and is my go to at the moment. Would be great to get the next version of Variaudio in Cubase asap as it has the best integration and workflow in my opinion. In general I wish Cubase did all their plugins as integrated features in Cubase, I would probarbly use them
Yes.! Sorry @RobSNML for missing/supporting this one when you posted some days ago… I’m not a big ‘midi guy’ so unsure how that can be achieved across Cubase (inside VA), but sounds a sweet idea…
Which is pretty much why I’ve moved on from Melodyne (which I do have) into VA exclusively, for vocal (monophonic audio) edits.
Steinberg have done such a compelling job with building-in this tool, expanding its capabilities brilliantly over the years. I think v3 was the one that really hit the sweet spot for me.
Now, time for a v4. (or, a v3.5..!)
Polyphonic audio handling may still be just out of reach. But a couple of the other ‘real-world’ tweaks mentioned, are realistic goals I reckon.!
