VariAudio not working for me

I have Cubase Pro 9.5. I have been watching videos of how to use VariAudio, and I can’t get it to work.

In the tutorials, they double-click their wav file in the track so you can see it down below. Then under the VariAudio tab, they hit the button beside where it says “pitch & warp”, and some processing takes place, after which little midi notes appear overlayed on your wav display.

I don’t get any of this processing - the little button just toggles between blue and grey - no processing occurs, and I don’t see any pitch info.

So I am having trouble getting step 1 to work. What am I doing wrong?

If you hit that button the first time analyzing takes place. After that you should see the segments in the sample editor. If you don’t, just scroll up/down, maybe the notes are just above/below the visible range.

The “analyzing” never happens for me. I don’t ever get a pop up with that occurring. And so I don’t get any notes appearing down below. Is there anything I need to do to “enable” or “activate” VariAudio?

I don´t get notes appearing.

I upgraded to 9.5 and I was able to get this working.
