Various Crashes

3 recent crashes with logs

  1. Apparently caused by SoundToys Little Plate when I moused to another app(Notepad) during playback (11/22)

  2. When attempting to Export (11/22)

  3. When attempting to execute Audio Alignment. (11/19)

There are others. They don’t seem to follow a pattern. But this is the most crashing I’ve had in years.
Cubase 11.0.0.300 64bit 2020.11.19 17.46.18.245.dmp (1.51 MB)
Cubase 11.0.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22 11.57.38.440.dmp (921 KB)
Cubase 11.0.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22 15.55.40.651.dmp (1.33 MB)

Hi,

Do I understand you right:

  1. SoundToys = Cubase 11.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22.15.55.40.651.dmp
  2. Export = Cubase 11.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22.11.57.38.440.dmp (could you be more specific here, please?)
  3. Audio Alignment = Cubase 11.0.0.300 64bit 2020.11.19 17.46.18.245.dmp (what does 11/19 mean, please?)
  1. Export Audio = Cubase 11.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22.15.55.40.651.dmp

  2. SoundToys Little Plate = Cubase 11.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22.11.57.38.440.dmp (could you be more specific here, please?)
During playback I often open Windows Notepad and type notes. When I did this (moved focus to Notepad away from Cubase) Cubase crashes

  3. Audio Alignment = Cubase 11.0.0.300 64bit 2020.11.19 17.46.18.245.dmp (what does 11/19 mean, please?) November 19th

Hi,

Are you sure about the order, please? I can see

LittlePlate+0x2f7aed0

as top line of the 11.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22.15.55.40.651.dmp, which should be the Export Audio crash by your words. But in the Cubase 11.0.300 64bit 2020.11.22.11.57.38.440.dmp, there is no LittlePlate or any plug-in mentioned.

I agree, Cubase 11.0.0.300 64bit 2020.11.19 17.46.18.245.dmp looks like Audio Alignment.

You’re probably right. Frankly, I’ve had perhaps a -dozen- such crashes since updating so I’ve lost track. These are literally the first ‘crashes’ with a log I’ve had in -years- and they’re happening here and there every day.

(Just to be clear, Cubase has not exited properly for me for perhaps 5 years. I always have to End Task because the audio engine dies after the machine sits idle for long enough. But that’s something completely different. When that happens there is never a Log. It’s just something I’ve learned to live with. This is different.)

Hi Suntower,

We’ve just had a look at your crash with Audio Alignment and could identify the root cause.
This will be fixed in an upcoming version.

We are nonetheless still looking for a good way to reproduce the crash. Do you have any recollection of how you got this crash, by any chance?
It could be due to an event being first removed from the project, then readded through undo and then being used for Audio Alignment.

Cheers
