When I ran out of midi channels, I took the plunge and upgraded from 13LE to 15 Elements and am now experiencing all sorts of problems. This morning I went back to an open project and a particular instrument wouldn’t play, A restart and it’s O.K. Some, like the fact when I open a new instrument track the instrument icon is greyed out, are just annoying, but now I’ve got one where when I’m highlighted on an instrument track, my keyboard plays an instrument from other tracks and not the selected intrument. I’m running version 0.20 which I believe is the latest.
Without being able to see what’s going on, I’d double check the routing in the inspector for each track and make sure they’re correct.
I removed the instrument track and created another with the same instrument which now does respond to my keyboard midi input. However, I notice that the instruments which are NOT highlighted are still responding to the keyboard. I may very well be wrong but my understanding up to now, based on my over five years experience with LE, is that only the highlighted track responds to midi input.
I feel somewhat of an idiot. Monitor was enabled on the other instrument tracks. I guess in the 5 plus years of using LE this has never happened before.
I’m still puzzled as to why when creating an instrument track, the actual instrument icon is greyed out. I can see if one selects the instrument when the naming popup occurs, that fixes it. Not an LE thing.
Oh yes, forgot to say thanks for the input.
It happens to the best of us!! You’re very welcome!!

Do you mean this icon like this? Are you dragging the instrument from the right zone to load it when it happens? I’ve noticed that Cubase needs to be in full screen for most things that are dragged in to not be sent to the back which is why the icon looks like its already open.
