I’m currently writing a concert band work that includes a trash can. There is a trash can sound in the “Metal Combo” in VDL, but no “Trash Can” listed in the Dorico percussion instrument list. How do I accomplish having a trash can sound in my composition?
Well - thanks for nothing. I actually figured it out myself (thanks google…) - the percussion map in the VDL manual is one octave off from the Dorico percussion map grid. Now, I can use any VDL sound and map it properly to my Dorico document.
