VEPro and Combining Patches in Dorico

I just started using Modern Scoring Strings, which has a robust divisi feature. I’d like to be able to switch from Violins 1 to the divisi patches Violins 1A and 1B on the same staff. I think VEPro can do this but I don’t know how to set it up. (I guess it’s conceptually the same as combining one articulation from one library then switching to another articulation in a different library.) Has anyone tried this?

The simplest way to handle this on the Dorico side is to use independent voice playback so that you can assign different voices to different endpoints (combinations of VST plug-in, port, and channel). Provided you’re then organised about how you use the voices, you can reasonably automatically achieve the divisi sound you’re looking for without any special configuration in your plug-in other than ensuring that each divisi sound is available on a separate channel.

I recently watched this great video on using VEPro with Dorico and it really helped me get up and running -

I don’t believe he addresses divisi directly, but like Daniel says probably the easiest way would be separating divisi by voice on the same staff, with independent playback, and then each voice can live on a separate channel, or port with channels dedicated to individual techniques which is what the video recommends. Hope that helps.

This is great, thanks.

Thank you, I’ll try that.
