'Verification Pending' showing in License Manager for C13

I’ve tried searches in the help centre and across the forums, but I can’t find a solution to this…

C13/Win 10.

I’ve helped a friend install his Cubase 13, and despite having entered his Download Code and Activation Code we are still seeing ‘Verification Pending’ in Activation Manager and he’s getting a warning at C13 startup that the license will expire in 5 days.

I’ve tried the suggestions in the help referred to by the error, but nothing is helping. We’ve tried re-entering the Download code, but it’s made no difference.

What can we do?

Have you tried to attach the dongle and run the eLicenser Control Center software?
Or wasn’t it an update from Cubase 11 or earlier?

It is an update from C12, which was running fine. He’s already migrated from dongle to online license way back. Trying to enter the Activation Code in eLicenser says there are no licenses to update, though it can see the dongle as he still has it plugged in (and we tried unplugging it too).

If it is an update from Cubase 12 then the license in eLicenser should read something like “Cubase 11 (upgraded to Cubase 12 licensing)…”.

In that case eLicenser and dongle are not important anymore.

Yes, that is what it says. And yes the dongle should not be relevant, but…

…in the new Activation Manager it shows ‘Verification Pending’ and when C13 starts up it says that it will no longer run in 4 days time.

In the same Activation Manager there is a valid Cubase 12 license shown?

Yes. C12 shows ‘Activated’ with no problem reported.

C13 shows Activated and ‘Verification Pending’.

Can you guys please check if the product bought was actually the “update from Cubase 12 to Cubase 13” and not maybe from Cubase 11 to 13? Or from Artist to Pro? Please carefully double-check.

Thank you. Will do. It’s the kind of mistake he might have made.

Good call.

From the receipt email it looks like he purchased the upgrade ‘Cubase Pro 13 Update from Cubase (Pro) 4 - 11’. Guess that should have been the upgrade from C12.

I’ll get him to contact Steinberg to sort it out.
